Set up Gmail filters that keep my inbox clean

Filter rules built from how you actually read email, applied and documented

My inbox is drowning in mail I never read. Analyze it and set up Gmail filters that keep it clean going forward. Go through my recent mail — the last [30] days plus my existing labels — and work out what I actually read and reply to versus what I archive or ignore: newsletters, receipts, notifications, cold outreach, internal threads. Propose a small set of filter rules with clear intent (e.g. "receipts → label Finance, skip inbox"), listing which senders each rule would catch. Show me the proposed rules first. Once I approve, create the filters and labels in Gmail settings and run them over the recent backlog so the inbox reflects the new system. Never delete anything — archive and label only — and keep anything money- or account-related in the inbox. Finish with the list of rules created and roughly how many emails a week each should absorb.
