Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 13, 2026

How Polar collects, uses, discloses, and retains information when you use the Services.

This Privacy Policy describes how Polar, a product of Recursive Intelligence ("Polar," "we," "our," or "us"), collects, uses, discloses, and retains information when you use the Polar browser, Polar agent features, our website, APIs, and related services (the "Services"). Polar is operated in the United States.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide to Us

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • account and authentication information, such as your email address and external authentication identifiers;
  • subscription and billing information, such as your subscription tier, Stripe customer identifiers, and billing status;
  • prompts, messages, uploaded files, feedback, and other content you submit through Polar; and
  • information you choose to make available through a public share link.

Information We Collect When You Use the Services

We collect information generated through your use of Polar, including:

  • conversation threads, run history, ratings, and written feedback;
  • agent execution data, such as page context, granted tab information, tool calls and results, screenshots, token and cost metadata, and related task records;
  • memory files, generated profile summaries, and domain-specific preference files used to personalize future runs;
  • files you attach, generate, read, or store through Polar's cloud sandbox; and
  • product analytics, diagnostics, and run observability data, which may include prompts, model outputs, tool traces, and screenshot references used to diagnose and review task execution.

Browser Data

Polar is a browser, and most browser profile data remains on your device. Browsing history, bookmarks, cookies, local storage, session storage, and similar browser data are stored locally and are not synced as a full profile backup to Polar's servers. Browser import also happens locally on your device, and imported cookies and passwords remain on your device.

Some features may send limited browser-derived information to Polar's servers, including:

  • page context and screenshots used to complete an agent request;
  • prompts that reference the current page, selected tabs, or browser state;
  • compact profile-generation summaries, such as top domains, recent pages, and authenticated domains; and
  • content you choose to share publicly.

Information We Receive from Third Parties

We receive information from service providers that support the Services, including authentication providers, payment processors, analytics providers, cloud hosting and storage providers, support systems, cloud sandbox providers, and model providers.

How We Use Information

We use information we collect to provide, operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Services; authenticate users and manage accounts; process billing and subscription events; run agent tasks; personalize future runs through memory and profile features; troubleshoot issues and evaluate product quality; communicate with you; and comply with law and enforce our terms.

AI Features and Model Providers

To provide Polar's agent features, we send the content needed to fulfill a request to our backend and to service providers that support model inference. Depending on the task, this may include prompts, screenshots, page context, uploaded files, conversation history, tool outputs, and other task-related content.

Polar uses commercial LLM provider arrangements that provide zero data retention and prohibit provider training on Polar customer data, subject to limited legal, safety, or abuse-prevention exceptions under provider policies. Zero data retention with model providers does not mean Polar retains no data. Polar stores the information it needs to operate the Services, maintain session continuity, support personalization features, review run quality, and investigate bugs or misuse.

How We Disclose Information

We do not sell your personal information or disclose it for third-party targeted advertising.

We may disclose information:

  • to vendors and service providers that help us operate the Services, including providers for authentication, model inference, cloud hosting and storage, analytics, billing, email delivery, support routing, and cloud sandboxes;
  • when you create a public share link, to anyone who accesses that link;
  • if necessary to comply with law, protect users or Polar, investigate misuse, or enforce our terms; and
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business.

Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain business and security records, investigate problems or misuse, meet legal obligations, and enforce our agreements.

In general:

  • browser profile data remains on your device until you clear or delete it locally;
  • account, conversation, run, memory, profile, screenshot, sandbox, analytics, and observability data may be retained on Polar's systems for the periods needed to operate the Services; and
  • data processed by model providers is governed separately by our provider arrangements and their applicable legal or safety obligations.

To request account deletion or broader data deletion, contact hello@polarbrowser.com.

Security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information we process. These measures include encryption in transit and, where supported by our infrastructure and service providers, encryption at rest.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing.

You may also be able to manage certain data directly through Polar, including by:

  • clearing or deleting browser-resident data locally on your device;
  • deleting conversation threads;
  • deleting public share links; and
  • updating saved memory files.

Polar does not currently provide a self-serve account deletion flow. To submit a privacy request, contact hello@polarbrowser.com.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and provide any notice required by applicable law.
