Optimize next week's calendar before it hardens
Back-to-backs broken up, focus blocks placed, and reschedule drafts ready
Every Friday afternoon, review my Google Calendar for next week and make the week saner. Look for: back-to-back chains with no breaks, meetings that fragment mornings or afternoons into unusable slivers, conflicts and double-bookings, meetings with no agenda or unclear purpose, and days with zero focus time. My preferences: [e.g. no meetings before 10am, deep work in the mornings, Fridays light]. Place focus-time holds on the good empty stretches — that's safe to do directly. For everything else, propose, don't move: which meetings to shift, shorten from 60 to 30, combine, or ask to skip, and why. For the reschedules I approve, draft the emails or replies to send — polite, offering two specific alternatives each. Finish with a before/after picture of the week: meeting hours, focus hours, and the single change that helps most.
