On May 18th, Composer will be upgrading to a new version of the product: Polar, which is macOS only for now.
For the past several months, we saw people use Composer in so many different ways. To name some: deep research, automating outreach, QA testing, trip planning, managing CRMs, admin/IT ops, and running Shopify businesses. Composer has completed tasks ranging anywhere from quick asks to 10 hour long endeavors.
The trend is clear: Composer is powerful for doing any knowledge work task on your behalf.
We're very excited to see this because our mission has always been to automate all knowledge work by building a form of AGI. Not to replace humans, but to multiply everyone by letting you focus on things you actually care about.
Obviously, we're still extremely early. There are many issues with Composer: reliably keeping authenticated sessions, interacting with complex UIs, using extensions, building a live memory of your work, and many more. Because Composer is currently an agent on Electron (it does not actually use a proper browser), it is extremely difficult to solve these problems.
That's why we've built a brand new version of Composer, called Polar, as a proper fork of Chromium (meaning it's just like Google Chrome). By having control over the browser, we can deeply integrate our AI agents into workflows and build a brand new type of interface between humans, agents, and the internet. This allows us to work towards the vision of becoming the work OS for every single person in the world.

+What will happen to my data?
We performed a one time data migration so most data like your chat history should be ported over. If anything is missing, don't hesitate to reach out. Workflows unfortunately will not be transferable.
+Will my credits still work in Polar?
Yes! All credits and billing status should be synced with Polar.
+Will I need to switch my main browser?
You don't have to since Polar can do all the tasks that Composer can do, but the Polar agent works much better if you do make it your main work browser.
+What about Windows?
A Windows version of our new product Polar is not yet available. You can join the waitlist.
